Report of 2018 NSSME

The Report of 2018 NSSME+ (The National Survey of Science & Mathematics Education) details the results of a survey of 7,600 science, mathematics, and computer science teachers in schools across the United States. Areas addressed include: teacher backgrounds and beliefs; science, mathematics, and computer science professional development; science, mathematics, and computer science courses; instructional objectives and activities; instructional resources; and factors affecting instruction.  Read more.

Diversity, Retention Rates, and Undergraduate Computer Science

A new report released by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) uses data to examine and understand retention in U.S. undergraduate CS programs.  Although the report, Retention in Computer Science Undergraduate Programs in the U.S: Data Challenges and Promising Interventions, reveals that significantly better data is needed to draw any broad conclusions, it offers  a number of recommendations regarding data collection, successful interventions, and future research based on case studies from specific institutions and successfully-implemented interventions.
