DESCRIPTION:Congratulations to the 2023 Rhode Island recipients of the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) Affiliate Award for Aspirations in Computing! \nThe National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) is a national non-profit organization that works to increase the meaningful participation of girls and women in computing. The NCWIT Award for Aspirations in Computing honors 9th-12th grade students (who self-identify as women\, genderqueer\, or non-binary) and encourages them to pursue their passions in computing and technology. Award recipients are chosen for their demonstrated interest and achievements in computing\, proven leadership ability\, academic performance\, tenacity in the face of barriers\, and plans for post‑secondary education. \nRhode Island Affiliate Award Recipients – To be announced soon.

SUMMARY:RI Science Olympiad 2023
DESCRIPTION:The 2023 Rhode Island Science Olympiad Tournament will be held on April 22 at Rhode Island College \nThe Science Olympiad is a national program that was created to increase interest in science. It has members in all 50 states with more than 12\,000 actively participating K-12 schools. The Science Olympiad aims to teach science by involving students in active\, hands-on activities that emphasize problem solving and the scientific process. In state and national competitions\, winners of individual events win athletic-style medals\, with winning teams earning trophies.
