DESCRIPTION:The 2023 Rhode Island Science Olympiad Tournament will be held on April 22 at Rhode Island College \nThe Science Olympiad is a national program that was created to increase interest in science. It has members in all 50 states with more than 12\,000 actively participating K-12 schools. The Science Olympiad aims to teach science by involving students in active\, hands-on activities that emphasize problem solving and the scientific process. In state and national competitions\, winners of individual events win athletic-style medals\, with winning teams earning trophies. DESCRIPTION:The Second National Summit for K-5 Computer Science Education will be held virtually on March 30\, 2023 from 12pm to 2pm ET.  It’s free and for All K-5 Principals\, Superintendents\, and STEM/CS Educators and Advocates. \nThe CS is Elementary Mission –  It’s this simple: There will not be Equity or equal opportunity in our country without universal K-5 CS education. This literacy is essential to our children’s future\, in nearly any field or life path they choose. Even middle school is too late: Wait that long\, and we will not build this defining literacy and self-belief in the majority of our children\, especially children of color\, the poor\, girls and rural youth.  The answer is universal K-5 CS education\, which should be an explicit expectation of every school\, the next top priority of the CSforAll movement\, and an imperative for everyone who cares about Equity\, social justice\, education\, and national economic preparedness.
